My name is Kelley Bennett, and I started sewing when I was a young girl, with my Grandma Polly. I always knew I would be an artist, to which direction that would go, I was uncertain. As time moved on, it became very clear to me that fashion and sustainability for the Earth were 2 of my major passions in life.

I started out making elaborate costume wear for festivals and performers on Etsy starting in 2008 under the name Family of Light Designs. As I got older, I began moving from bright calico prints and fancy brocade upholstery fabrics to 100% organic cotton and hemp fibers. I officially started Calico Alchemy Organics in December of 2012, and this business had been an evolving passion project over the last 14 years of my life. Not just a business that was solely created to make money and leave. but something I have had to learn about and grow with as my life has changed, and molding my business to the ebbs and flows of our community and our people is part of what I find so beautiful about this particular art form, and running a small, locally generated business.

Calico Alchemy Organics creates unique handmade and hand dyed clothing for women. We pride ourselves in exclusive ready to ship drops where you can typically find one of a kind wears that are heirloom quality. We move with the seasons with our colors, and designs. Visiting each part of the Earth Rainbow as much as possible throughout the year. We offer Made to order Custom made clothing, specialization in comfort, active, and everyday staples that are must haves for any women’s wardrobe. We source the best organic plant fibers available in the available in United States, including hemp, cotton, and bamboo blends. All clothing is designed, cut, sewn, and dyed and photographed on my farm, in Williams, Oregon.
